Prints

As a curator I have been responsible for the care and display of masterpieces of printmaking by Dürer, Rembrandt, Picasso and many others. However, my practical experience was rudimentary before joining Glasgow Print Studio in the 1990s, where I gained an introduction to screenprinting, etching and aquatint. Currently, I favour drypoint, the most direct method there is, drawing with a diamond point into polished copper. Direct, but so fragile that I count myself lucky to pull 20 good impressions before the pressure of printing begins to degrade the image. So, if they are ever valued at all, it will be for their rarity!
